AN INTRODUCTION TO FUNDAMENTALS OF MOVEMENT

Wigan Sports Development will be hosting a Fundamentals of Movement worskshop on 8th September 2010 at Lowton High School. This will be the first course of Wigan Sports Development's 10th Coach Education programme. WENTWORTH WIN ASHTON CUP 2010

On Sunday 15th August 8 teams took part in the annual Ashton Football Cup at St.Edmund Arrowsmith High School. The tournament involving 6 youth teams from Ashton and Bryn was jointly organised by Greater Manchester Police and Wigan Sports Development and was played out in a league format with two groups of four teams.  read more...
GREATER MANCHESTER DISABILITY GAMES 2010

Leigh Sports Village is to host the 2010 Greater Manchester Disability Games on Wednesday 7th July. This is the 2nd successive year the event will be held in the borough and it is hoped the event will build on success of the 2009 Games. The grass roots competition is open to young people with a disability aged 11 – 16 and will see youngsters from across the county compete in six sports; Athletics, Boccia, Boys Football, Girls Tag Rugby, Table Tennis and Sitting Volleyball. FREE Swimming Lessons

Are you aged 11-16 years old?

If you are unable to swim 10 metres on your front and back you can register for some FREE swimming lessons. The classes are limited to young people in the 11-16 years age group, they will take place at Hindley Pool from Tuesday 5th January 2010 from 7pm-7.30pm for 12 weeks. If you would like to take part then please contact Hindley Pool on 01942 255401 to book your place. You will need to register for a Lifestyle card, an application form can be downloaded at www.wlct.org/lifestyle
