Disability Sports Sessions WLCT Sports Development’s Disability Sport Programme offers a range of activities for children, young people and adults with a disability throughout the year. Please find below a full list of weekly sessions offered across the Borough.

Holiday Programme WLCT Sports Development also offer activities for young people aged 5-19 with a disability throughout each school holiday period (excluding Christmas). Each day a different activity will be offered, details can be found below.

Active Choices WLCT Sports Development support delivery of a programme of activities for adults (age 16 years+) with a learning disability, physical disability or severe and enduring mental illness.  The aim of the programme is to offer physical activity opportunities to:

  • Help improve health
  • Help improve quality of life and
  • Increase confidence

Volunteering and Coaching There are also opportunities for individuals to get involved in disability sports sessions by volunteering or coaching, with funding available to support individuals in gaining qualifications. For information take a look at our volunteering page by clicking here.

Wigan Disability Sports Forum The Wigan Disability Sports Forum is a group which meets on a quarterly basis to discuss sports provision within the Wigan Borough. All parents/carers, and anyone with a particular interest in disability sport are welcome to attend these meetings to contribute in the development of local sporting opportunities.
