Wigan Canoe Group

Wigan Canoe Group has been in existence since 1992 and is a BCU affiliated club. We average between 60-80 members each year, the club is open to everyone and we have trips and activities throughout the year.

When and where does the group meet?

The club meets at Scotmans Flash every week on a Thursday evening throughout the summer months. 6pm –8:30 depending on the available light. Some evening’s trips are planned to other locations so check the calendar.

If you have email access the club regularly sends out reminders for future events.

In addition to the activity meetings we meet once a month to discuss future events, plan day trips etc. This usually happens in the Beer Engine after a Thursday session. Again see the calendar for details.

During the winter months the club holds fortnightly baths sessions to enable rolling and support stroke practice in a warm environment.

The more able paddlers regularly have trips planned during the wetter months out on rivers and lakes.
